Geoff Ashenhurst edits award-winning films, television, music videos and commercials based out of Toronto.
After studying Life Science and Film at Queen’s University, Geoff fell into a job as the in-house editor at Publicis, a large ad agency in Toronto. From there he moved to the acclaimed commercial editing shop Stealing Time to learn the secrets of the craft as an assistant. It wasn’t long before he was promoted to editor, working on some of the country’s biggest brands, as well as projects for artists like Gnarls Barkley, The Rolling Stones and Beyoncé.
But his passion for film persisted and he continuously worked on short films in his free time. His big break came cutting Woody Harrelson as Defendor, which premiered at TIFF and was picked up by Sony in a bidding war. Since then he has had the good fortune to share credits with fine talent like Ed Harris, John Logan, Alejandro Amenábar, Eva Green, Ethan Hawke, Elizabeth Olsen, Rachel Weisz and Clint Eastwood to name a few.
Geoff also really enjoys being a dad.
